Aero firefighter II by geostant Aero firefighter II by geostant
On the north of Israel at Carmel mountain, over 1400 dunam (346 acre) been burnt down...

The red thing that the airplane is droping is a burnt suspension that slows down the fire and lets the firefighters get to the center virtually quicker

During 2005
Shot it from the "Hai-Bar" on the Carmel
it's a preserve for mammals

Oh, cool.
Yeah I know what the Hai-Bar is, beautiful place. I was so scared when the fire was approaching it 2 months ago...

This is horrible!
I can see it from my house!
The news say that the fire will continue at least until Sunday..

it's even an honour for me... especially that I'm very pro green and very aware of global warming

Thanks for the comment and the fav...
maybe because it's unique, not being seen every day ?

quite probably. but it seems more than that though, somehow you captured an emotion higher than the picture itself, as if i can feel what the pilot is feeling at the moment you capture it or something.

Excellent shots, wonderful colors. it makes me cry though, as I remember the look of the burnt mountain that I live on (Naphtaly range - Manara)

We lost a lot of trees the last war...

Sure did. A katyusha hit about 30-40 meters from my house and caused a lot of the surrounding nature to burn, as well as other missiles which burned most of the mountain side... I only hope that the burn there is superficial and that the trees will be green again.

I can't add much to what everyone already said. It is a great shot. Totally printworthy as well (hint :D)

No can do :tears:
quality issues (high ISO with a major crop doesn't goes well together)

I really like it as well but not the situation.... many many trees died that day
